The room is a call now
The frontmatter answers this before you ask: setting: offline, online, or hybrid. Two-truths and common-ground move into breakouts almost whole; minefield stays on the floor where it belongs. This guide is the honest adaptation list — what survives, what swaps, what you stop trying.
Let the metadata filter for you
the remote shortlist
curl -s https://workshopskill.com/en/skills.json | jq -r ' .skills[] | select(.setting|test("online|hybrid")) | [.name,.category,.duration_minutes] | @tsv' # ask the agent instead: "which installed skills survive a video call with 14 people, breakouts of 2, no floor space?" — it reads setting from each frontmatter and says no to the minefield.
The three swaps that work
- Prop cards → screen-share + DM. The poker decks print, but the same cards share as images; blind-portrait's back-to-back rule becomes a cameras-off drawing round, which works.
- Paper answer sheets → the live form. Offline, the paper is the equalizer; remote, the FormLM pre/post link replaces it and the delta is automatic — the remote room is where the live lane earns its login.
- Wall retro → board. start-stop-continue survives with cards in any shared board; the owner-and-date discipline is the file's, not the wall's.
What you stop trying
Anything whose lesson is physical: blanket-drop's planted feet, silent-lineup's body geometry. Port them and you get a survey instead of an exercise. The folders say so — offline-only is a fact about the activity, not a missing feature.
Agent prep for the call version
a brief that respects the setting
> 14 people, video call, 60 minutes: opener + one measurable > core + exit ticket. Everything must work in breakouts of 2, > nothing needs floor space. Print nothing. The agent composes from setting-matching skills, swaps paper for links, and returns the agenda with the 2-minute pre and post passes already inside the timing.

questions
Which folders are online-ready today?
The catalog knows — the setting field and the site's remote-friendly scene page carry the current list; check there rather than this article's date.
Do breakout rooms change the group-size math?
No: group_size is per pair or per team already; multiply by breakout count, and the agent's agenda math does it.
Video fatigue is real — how short can prep be?
The remote-friendly folders run 3–15 minutes (exit-ticket is three); a 60-minute call fits opener + one core + close with buffer. The folders refuse to stretch to 90 for its own sake.
