Remix it — the license says you can

Every folder here is CC BY 4.0: run it in paid workshops, rebrand it, cut your own version — keep the attribution and the drawer stays open. This guide is the mechanics: what a skill must contain to stay agent-ready, and how the same bundle becomes your product listing.

Fork the shape, not just the text

what to copy

skills/blind-portrait/ -> skills/my-drawing-brief/ SKILL.md (rewrite name/description/body) manifest.json (your name, your version, your hashes) CHANGELOG.md (start your history) *-guide.md, *-debrief.md, *-assessment.json *-prop-cards.pdf ... (your printables)

The frontmatter is the contract

Keep the Agent Skills core — name (directory name), description (what it is + when to use it, the matching surface) — and put your domain fields under metadata:: category, group size, duration, setting, props, depth. That is what loaders match on; change the vocabulary and your skill becomes invisible.

Keep the commands real

A skill is a runbook. If your remix runs on your own hosting, replace the curl base URL and verify: every file a printed command references must exist at that path. The bundle's manifest (name, bytes, sha256 per file) is how buyers — and your own future self — check nothing drifted.

From remix to marketplace

The zip is the delivery unit on skill marketplaces and course-resource platforms alike: one named directory, one SKILL.md, printables inside, license.md alongside. Three honest boundaries: attribution stays visible; if you fork an assessment-type folder, the preset's item wording is part of the measure — change the items, re-validate the deltas you claim; and CC BY does not license anyone's trademarks, your own included on the way out.

questions

Can I sell a remixed skill?

CC BY 4.0 permits commercial redistribution and adaptation with attribution — selling your own folder built on it is inside the license. Your derivative can be licensed however you like; the original's CC terms keep flowing to the parts you kept.

Do I need to keep the assessment.json?

No — but if you advertise a pre/post measure, the item set is the measure. Editing items edits the claim.

How small can a skill be?

One SKILL.md with no printables is legal (tool-type folders are nearly that). Matching and running depend on the frontmatter and commands, not on PDF count.
